RT @KjetilTronvoll It seems that @EUinEthiopia + 3 are not updated about the situation in Ethiopia. @PatrickHeinisc1 TPLF is running a clandestine project of being deep state (driving Abiy Ahmed from behind ) and opposition at the same time for the sole purpose of undermining a meaningful Amhara/Ethiopian counter revolutionary movement to bring about a structural change to the current system
RT @PatrickHeinisc1 An #Ethiopian source close to the Fano’s leadership said the current rapprochement between the Amhara group and the TPLF is driven by a shared priority of confronting Abiy’s government, https://t.co/6n95yzyHsD
RT @JemalCountess The current government in Ethiopia is engaged in an active genocide and ethnic cleansing against the Amhara people. Their ultimate aim is to build a new nation centered around the Oromo ethnic group incorporating lands seized from the Amhara and other ethnic groups to fulfill their objectives. The FANO are fighting the Ethiopian government to protect the Amhara region and all of Ethiopia for that matter from the fascist seeking to destroy the Amhara people, the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and the country itself. The Amhara have experienced large scale massacres seemingly every week for the past several years committed by forces aligned with, if not under direct orders of the current, Oromo dominated government....
RT @JemalCountess Those of you following events in Ethiopia and asking why the FANO are fighting the "Government Forces" in Ethiopia? Can we talk about the other aspect of this, how there are forces within the country that have no regard for sacred institutions and have been and continue to look for any opportunities to erase ethnic Amharas from the landscape of the country. This was part of the objective of the war that took place in the Northern part of the country when fighters of the TPLF committed multiple massacres and attacks on noncombatants in the Amhara and Afar regions. Ethnic Amharas are not “paranoid” about the multiple episodes of mass murder they have endured and how these crimes have been covered up using propaganda and rewritten narratives. To those in the Orthodox faith, you need to understand that the attacks on Chena Teklehaymanot Church occurred on the day commemorating Teklehaymanot as the Tabot was leaving the church. In other words the gunman waited until the Tabot was the focus of the crowd. The parishioners were facing the Tabot, as were the gunman. The gunman chose that moment to open fire, shooting parishioners from behind while ignoring the presence of the Tabot. CHENA, ETHIOPIA - OCTOBER 10: Kes (Priest) Tiftu Ejigu mourns his 40 year old wife and 3 year old daughter at their grave site on the 40th Day commemoration of their deaths at the massacre at Chena Teklehaymanot Church on October 10, 2021 in Chena, Ethiopia. Officials in this part of the Amhara region, which borders Tigray, said Chena was the site of a two-day attack by Tigrayan fighters that began during the Mass (Kidasse) on the annual observance of the day of Saint Teklehaymanot on August 31, that according to local government officials resulted in the deaths of at least 119 civilians even though villagers place the death toll at 207. Tigrayan forces denied responsibility and called the allegations fabricated. The almost yearlong conflict in the Tigray region has spread to neighboring Amhara after the TPLF recaptured most of its home state from government forces in June and then invaded the Amhara and Afar regions in July of 2021. @obomboleti87632 @EU_Commission @_AfricanUnion @UN @USEmbassyAddis That is exactly what I am saying. TPLF undermines peace. Undermines diplomacy. Undermines Ethiopia. 27 years of corruption and division was not enough for them. The international community must stop giving them a platform.

RT @eritrean_post Congratulations on the anniversary of the founding of the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF). On 15 August 1984 — over 40 years ago — the ONLF was established to fight for the independence of the Somali Region (Ogaden) from Ethiopia. Since then, it has struggled for four decades for the rights of the Somali people in the Ethiopian-occupied Somali Region. The ONLF has consistently advocated for Somali rights, Somali culture, the well-being of Somalis, and unity among all Somali clans. In 1995, the ONLF initiated a peaceful independence referendum. The Tigray-led Ethiopian regime blocked it and invaded the Somali Region from 1995 to 2018, establishing the notorious prison camp known as Jail Ogaden, which severely affected the livelihoods of thousands of Somalis. Even when Ethiopia invaded Somalia in 2006, the ONLF fought alongside Somali forces against the Ethiopian invaders. It shot down Ethiopian helicopters heading to Somalia and attacked gas sites in the Somali Region. More recently, when Ethiopia signed the illegal MoU with Somaliland, ONLF leadership under Abdirahman Mahdi opposed the agreement and reaffirmed its support for a united Somalia. The ONLF also enjoys significant support among Eritreans. Both the ONLF and the Eritrean EPLF fought against the Derg regime of Ethiopia, and later against the TPLF’s wars on Eritrea, the Ogaden, and Somalia. As a result, ties between Eritrea and the ONLF grew stronger. Eritrea became the only country in the world to support, train, and fund the ONLF’s struggle from 1995 to 2018. Thousands of ONLF fighters lived in Eritrea almost as citizens. They left Eritrea after the 2018 Ethiopian-Eritrean peace agreement, when Abiy Ahmed launched peace talks with the ONLF. Today, the Ethiopian regime has rendered the peace agreements with both the ONLF and Eritrea obsolete, prompting Eritrea and the ONLF to renew their ties. In the summer of 2026, an ONLF delegation led by Abdirahman Mahdi traveled to Asmara and Khartoum to strengthen relations with Eritrea and Sudan. The ONLF also joined the Tsimdo gathering in Port Sudan during the same period. Overall, the ONLF continues its long struggle for the rights and self-determination of the Somali people of the Ogaden. @ONLFofficial @OgadenNews_ONA @theogaden @UGSP2 @UGSP1 @LtKhalifa @hiiraan @EIshmael_...
@EthiopiaOnline — Beyond Tigray, #Ethiopia’s federal forces are managing simultaneous insurgencies with Fano in Amhara and the OLA in Oromia. These internal conflicts stretch security capacity and sharply narrow the political space needed for compromise. - https://t.co/nR4jXBziCt

RT @mesgan27 🚨 HORRIFIC MASSACRE IN ETHIOPIA! 🚨 3 innocent Amhara youths—Temesgen Getachew, Yitagesu Asegdew, and Gizachew Girmaye—were forcibly dragged out of a public bus in Abeshge, Gurage Zone, falsely accused of being "Fano," bound with ropes, and brutally executed with gunshots to the head by security forces! To make it worse, forces banned families from burying their bodies!...

RT @OgadenSoldier The closing ceremony of the Ethiopia National Dialogue Conference featured an Ethiopian musical band performing the Ogaden Dhaanto, a cultural dance that has become one of the most influential and widely recognized expressions of Somali heritage. If the Prosperity Party believes it can win over the people of the Somali Region through cultural appropriation and mockery, it is seriously miscalculating. The Ogaden Somali Region has faced years of marginalization, particularly in representation within the federal government, while receiving far less development infrastructure and investment than regions such as Oromia and Amhara. The Prosperity Party has an opportunity to address this injustice through meaningful political reforms, greater inclusion and promotion of Somalis within the federal government, and a fair share of the development projects to the Somali region enjoyed by other regions....

Also need to add AAPRP. As recently as June 2024, i.e., when it should have been clear to everybody what the Abiy regime is all about, they were still blaming their support for the genocide on the "imperialist puppet" character of the TPLF. Never mind that one Tigraway out of every seven was shot, bombed, or starved to death, supposedly to uproot Weyane. Or that two million were subjected to starvation. Never mind that ENDF operations were also ramped up in Wellega and other "Shene" strongholds, increasing the hyper-surveilled misery of average Oromos, the primary victims of EPRDF abuses. Because for this (mostly American) group that has zero presence or intimate contacts inside Ethiopia, TPLF had to be eliminated: even by a neo-neftegna Pente extremist, with Trump's stench all on him. Mind you, AAPRP claims "detailed knowledge" of Ethiopian and Eritrean politics, and to support Eritrea--not, apparently, Abiy Ahmed, the most pro-Western leader of the empire-state since Selassie. Though Eritrea itself maintained close ties to Israel until 2020, HGDEF still does not recognize Palestine, and dictator Isaias welcomed the US to conduct the "war on terror" against Iraq during the Bush regime. Eritrea claims to be socialist, they're African, and they are sanctioned by the US, and that's all these antiquarian windbags ever needed to know to support them....
